Happy New Year!!!

I thought I would share some pictures of what I have been up to lately  (a lot of family time) and some pictures of little changes I have made around the house to start off 2014!!

New Chandelier I want to get from World Market.

Me and my niece Bridget walking in the bay during Mud Tide.

Nephews playing football on the beach in Fairhaven.

We went up to Gaver Farm again this year to cut down our Christmas Tree!

Tripoley Board Game- My family loves this game and it is great for all ages. You can buy it here at Vintage Game World.

Cream of Crab Soup- This soup literally makes me drool thinking about it. You need to try it out!
Cream of Crab Soup Recipe
Serves 20
2 sticks butter
1/2 onion and 4 garlic cloves
2 1/2 celery sticks
1 red pepper
1 pint half and half
1 1/2 pints whipping cream
3/4 brick small velveeta
2 cans creamed corn

Boatyard Restaurant in Annapolis

Annapolis Christmas Boat Parade

Frank Sinatra Boat with "Way You Look Tonight" playing!

Our favorite was the Choo Choo Train!

Shut the Box is a great coffee table game and a great gift for a couple. Slate cheese board (from Crate & Barrel) makes a nice score board also!

Ice Skating with my nieces and nephews.

I decided to sand this piano stool down, paint it white , and then distressed it a little. I still need to use paint thinner and try to clean up the glass balls under the feet.

If you remember I had originally painted this etagere from Ikea Brass. I felt like it would look better a more rustic army green/grey so I spray painted it with a sage green and then topped it off with a silver grey spray paint.

I love this new wooden door wall decor piece I got from World Market.

Samantha French Painting #4

This is one of my favorite new pieces, a vintage rifle lamp of my grandfathers that I got a new lamp shade for from Ballard Designs.

Sailboat painting I found on Etsy

New pillows from Bed Bath & Beyond, Crate & Barrel and some made by myself.

I decided to paint these frames that were silver before a bright white and I love how they turned out.

New bowls and mug from World Market and Anthropologie.

I have a nice little collection going of all the matches we have gotten at friends weddings and engagements parties!

New rustic wooden frame for Jesus sketch that I found at World Market.

New artwork from Samantha French called "Dive in Float"

I placed the lamp on top of this wooden box of my grandmothers to give the lamp height and to create more space on the table. I love how simple little changes like this make such a difference and do not cost anything.

Bath Time!

I am sorry it has been awhile since my last post, this time of year gets so busy and I get into the bad habit of not posting. I will try to be better in the new year! I am currently working on a client's bathroom and wanted to share my vision so far of what I think we should do with it.
This gilt mirror from Wisteria with this cowhide rug and this overstock garden stool and circa sconce lighting and Pottery Barn Single Sink Console and my favorite part the Kravet grasscloth Wallpaper and throw in some cute Aqua Gobi bath towels from Serena and Lily.

Nursery Rhymes
I recently came across this nursery in Style at Home and even though I am not personally in the market for a nursery it caught my eye!

Since looking at it I started looking at other nurseries and children's rooms and came across the designer Nancy Twomey. Nancy is the principal designer of Finnian's Moon Interiors, a design studio in Alexandria, VA that specializes in nurseries and children's spaces. "Nancy Twomey creates classic and beautiful environments that delight babies, children and the grown-ups who love them."
I especially love her boys rooms!
