Chairish Style Challenge!

I was inspired by Chairish (one of my favorite vintage finds stores) to create a style board around an accent chair turning a room from white to bright. I chose to create a family room inspired around this 19th century chair (#11 below). The room feels more intimate because I have created three separate areas within the larger room: the seating area by the armoire, a little reading nook with the desk and reading chair beside it, and another seating area for tea! I love using simple neutral colors along with furniture and accent pieces that have a lot of history, texture and detail to give the room life. Now all the room needs are some big windows and lots of greens and flowers.

New Apartment!
Moving can be stressful, especially when you are a perfectionist like myself. I still need to hang things on the walls but so far the stress was worth the move. Enjoy these pics of our new apartment. Happy Summer!!

Found Vintage Rentals:Jeni Maus

Domain featured a piece today on Jeni Maus, owner of Found Vintage Rentals. Maus sources treasured props for Southern California’s top private events, weddings, and film sets.
"Maus has partnered with “pre-loved” furniture and décor marketplace Chairish, an easy way for design lovers to buy and sell furniture to each other, to host a blowout floor sale of her unique finds. From Union Jack flags and iron demijohn baskets to striped settees and distressed leather couches, the selections, which start at $150, are straight out of a fairy tale." Shop her collection here!
I would love to start my own collection of vintage furniture and decor items to rent out to wedding and event venues and movie sets in DC so I decided to email Jeni and ask her some questions on how she started out collecting her pieces and how she acquired clients to rent her items. I will post her answers if she ever writes me back! In the meantime I am going to start looking into renting out a warehouse to store all the vintage pieces I am going to buy! Sorry Joey....every day is a new idea!
Here are some of my favorite's from the Chairish collection.

Mark D. Sikes...I can never get enough!

These high ceilings and thick pine floors make a big enough statement that minimal furniture and decor work so well here.

Love this drawing desk!

Would love to have this dining room table, and accent table in my home one day. They are the perfect combination brought together so nicely with the rustic yet glamorous chandelier.

Dreaming of Summer...

From Pink couches to White couches...have a great weekend!

Blakes Hotel, London: Corfu Suite

I have been wanting to give my bedroom a makeover and I am using this dreamy  white Corfu suite from the famous Blakes Hotel in London as my muse. I love how simple yet luxurious it is without going over the top. There is nothing better than the calming tranquility of an all white room.

I love the beautiful white linens, the painted white floor and natural wood and inlay furniture pieces and those mother-of-pearl dressers oh my. The high ceilings and textured walls and molding are not too shabby either. And then of course, the dreamy canopy bed. Would love to add some of these elements to my own room.
